Not Yours, Not Mine…
INDIAN TRADITIONS
Some recipes are more than just recipes.
They don't belong to one person, one kitchen, or even one family. They travel quietly—from one generation to the next. A little of this, a little of that. A particular way of cutting, drying, mixing or cooking… things that were rarely written down, but somehow were always remembered.
These are the recipes of grandmothers and mothers.
The kind of food we grew up eating without ever asking where the recipe came from. We simply knew that it tasted like home.
With every generation, something changes. Life gets busier, kitchens get different, and old ways can slowly be forgotten. But some tastes are too special to let go.
That is where The Jar & Barni comes in.
We haven't created these traditions. We inherited them.
We've simply kept them alive—with the same love for traditional flavours, the same respect for time-tested ways, and that familiar feeling you get when you open a jar and the first taste takes you somewhere.
Maybe it reminds you of your mother's kitchen. Maybe it's your grandmother's pickle. Maybe it's a taste you haven't had in years And maybe, for someone else, it becomes a new memory altogether.
Because food has a beautiful way of travelling through generations. It carries stories without needing words.
Not yours, not mine…
These are recipes from grandmothers and mothers, passed down from one generation to the next. We've simply kept that tradition and taste alive — for you.
